Dr. Caroline Medford Lieber
Concertmaster

Dr. Caroline Medford Lieber is a local educator and performer in the Boston metropolitan region. She has performed in various orchestras in Boston, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and North Carolina, and studied chamber music with members of Tokyo, Arditti, Colorado, and Mendelssohn String Quartets.

In addition to proudly joining Reading Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster, Dr. Lieber regularly performs with her string quartet, Quartet For-Te. She also owns and operates Wakefield Music, a private string performance school in Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Dr. Lieber was the founding head teacher of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra's Intensive Community Program. This innovative program focuses on high quality string training for minority youth in the greater Boston area. In addition to string teaching, she has experience teaching theory and ear training at both the Middle School and collegiate levels. She has delivered papers on string instruction for both the Massachusetts Music Educator Association All-State Conference and College Music Society Northeast Chapter Meeting.

Dr. Lieber received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance from Boston University in May of 2003. Other degrees include a Masters of Music from Yale University School of Music and a Bachelors of Music from North Carolina School of the Arts. She resides in Wakefield with her loving family. When not performing, teaching, and mothering, she enjoys cooking, reading, and camping.
